Speaking of plans...

Here are the main sheets. You can see what is being added in the prints below. They're self explanatory, but, just for reference, the right side is the south side facing the lake.

The Foundation is in...

They completed the foundation work today. However, now that I have the completed drawings, they will have to change a course of block at the top for proper construction. However, that can be done later, as the contractor, Hobson and Scott, still has to tear off the back porch and a row of block has to be added to the existing structure when they finish.

You can see where the basement windows will be in the addition as well as the new basement entrance. You can also see where they moved the gasline to as well.

Welcome to my blog I've created, at least for the moment, to document online the construction of my home addition for everyone to follow at their leisure.

On December 17th, 2008, the pit for the foundation was dug out. Temperatures on this day plunged to around zero degrees. Needless to say, most of the pics I took on this day did not turn out because I was too busy shaking from the cold. Attached are what did turn out.
